The Rebirth of a Legend

Well, that may sound a bit exaggerated. But is it really?
The idea came from a convinced OK Match archer. Matthias S.-Y. enjoyed success with the OK Match in the '80s. After a foray into compounds, which also lasted several years, the idea of a new, revised OK Match came up. "Old men" sometimes dream of "better times". But dreaming was not an option for Matthias.
As an OK Archery fan, he had old documents and drawings. As well as some old OK Match from the '80s. Matthias got permission from OK Archery to redesign the bow. He had clear ideas about how the already excellent middle section of the Match should be improved. New drawings were made and a milling company was sought that would implement his ideas.
Prototype development is, how should we say, a difficult field. You can calculate a lot of things, and you always have wishful thinking. So you hope for the best from your super good ideas. But a series of brutal facts is the death of every good plan, which only works until reality intervenes. In addition, what looks good on paper or on the computer is quickly put into perspective when you hold the first prototype in your hand. So you can imagine that a few aluminum shavings flew before Matthias held the first prototype in his hand that he was reasonably happy with. More were to follow.
If you look at the development, you can understand the emerging pioneering spirit. Changes were implemented using sketches and handwritten notes. The result is a real development of a bow from the 1980s that cannot and does not want to deny its roots.
