What happens when I twist or untwist string and cables?
This is a common question. Our Staff-Shooter from Canada, Attlia Biber, summarized the effects of twisting and untwisting string and cables into a table. We have colored it for a better overview.
Important :
- The table describes the effects twisting or untwisting the cables on both sides parallel. One-side-twisting is for tuning the camlean.
- The parallel un-/twisting is the method to tune the cam-timing. With this method you tune the simultaneously contact of draw-stops or modules.
- NOTE: Before twisting any string or cable, please note down ATA, braceheight and drawlength. Measure draw weight and holding weight if you want to change it. Note down every half and full un-/twist - this is the only reliable way back to the original state!
